Speaker. Mentor.

During Barbara’s career as a filmmaker and arts administrator, she has mentored and trained hundreds of students, from elementary to post-secondary, in film making, writing and media studies. For three summers, she delivered a week-long summer film camp for 10-14 year olds at St. Michael’s University School as part of a partnership with SMUs and the Victoria Film Festival. In 2008 she was invited to spend a week at SMUs as a visiting scholar for high school students, where she mentored students interested in filmmaking. Barbara has been a mentor for eleven Telus Storyhive teams (2018-2021), including the $100k, Indigenous,Web Series and Local Heroes editions.
